The Montreal Science Centre was established in 2000, and was originally named iSci Centre, but changed its name to Montreal Science Centre in 2 years later. This science museum is located in the Old Port of Montreal on the King-Edward Pier. This centre offers a large variety if scientific activities that are enjoyable for every member of the family. Every year the centre welcomes all kinds of people. They welcome multiple interactive exhibits that are temporary. They also have permanent scientific exhibits: Science 26: This exhibit has a total of 26 stations, one for every letter in the alphabet. For every letter there is a new scientific for you to learn about. Mission Gaia: It is your mission to save humanity. Is it possible for us to create a balance between the environment, the human developpement and the economy? Cargo: This exhibit was created to show you the past of the Old Port. Come on board and see with your own eyes what happens when a cargo ship arrives at the harbour. These exhibits all revolve around science and technology, although you learn a lot in a fun way. Other than the exhibits, the Montreal Science Centre is also the home of an amazing IMAX theatre. The IMAX was created by two Canadian inventors, Graeme Ferguson and Roman Kroitor, in 1967. The first IMAX movie, “Tiger Child”, was exposed to the public at the Expo ’70 in Japan.
